March 21st is designated by the United Nations as the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. It's a day observed all around the world to focus attention on the problems of racisim and the need to promote racial harmony.
On Thursday, March 21st, the Multicultural Council of Saskatchewan, in partnership with the Yorkton Film Festival, Yorkton Public Library, and Recreation and Community Services - City of Yorkton are hosting a film screening of "Reserve 107 - Reconciliation on the Prairies". The screening will be followed by a presentation and discussion by local members of the Treaty Land Sharing Network, Paula and Morley Maier, along with former Treaty Commissioner, Mary Musqua-Culbertson. Bannock and beverages will be available. This evening is made possible with the support of SaskCulture, SaskLotteries, the Province of Saskatchewan, and Government of Canada.
